Monica Rosenfeld Monica Rosenfeld - Managing Director

Monica founded WordStorm in 2000 after working for two years as a producer on Channel Nine’s ‘A Current Affair.’ Whilst working in television journalism, Monica realised there was an opportunity to create a PR company that intimately understands how the media works and to represent the wide range of organisations seeking media exposure.

Monica has carried this concept forward to build a team of 10 highly skilled PR Professionals. While she actively oversees all accounts, her primary role now is to further the business through dedicated customer service and business development. In addition to running WordStorm, Monica is passionate about building positive relationships with other business professionals and is often called upon to present a workshop on ‘How to boost your business using publicity’ at various events.

As a member of the Public Relations Institute of Australia (PRIA), Monica truly believes in the power of PR as a valuable investment for any business and is determined to make clients believe it too, by helping them achieve increased credibility through positive media coverage.

Joram van der Starre Joram van der Starre - Managing Director

Joram brings his extensive international experience in the Marketing and Graphic Design industry to the forefront of WordStorm’s strategy in helping build the business as a dynamic and powerful yet down to earth results-driven PR company.  With a Dutch Graphic Design Degree from The Graphic Lyceum Eindhoven specialising in Typography and Illustration, Joram has worked on several big-budget, creative advertising and marketing campaigns overseas.

Joram’s creative concepts and flair for aesthetics make his photography, design and practical marketing tactics tangible for WordStorm’s clients in effectively communicating with media and consumers.  Joram has worked with Monica to grow WordStorm with a fresh focus on maintaining the uniqueness and visual appeal of the company.

Amanda Cummergen Amanda Cummergen - Account Director

Amanda has over 10 years experience in marketing and public relations within both the agency and in-house environments. Prior to working at WordStorm, Amanda was the Group Marketing Manager for a large hospitality group and employed WordStorm as her public relations agency. She therefore knows exactly what is important to clients and is passionate about ensuring they receive great service and return on their investment.

Whilst in the UK, Amanda worked for two internationally-renowned consultancies promoting a variety of business, pharmaceutical, fashion, events and consumer clients. Her favourite account saw her travel around the world setting up and running 24-hour press offices for over 400 international journalists!

Amanda’s role is to provide direction and support to the WordStorm team, take on the responsibility for the marketing of the company and take the business to the next level.

Laura Blasdale Laura Blasdale

After working for a boutique public relations company in 2005, Laura lived in London and backpacked around Europe and South East Asia for a year. When the travel bug had passed, she knuckled down to complete an Advanced Diploma in Business Marketing majoring in Public Relations at APM Training Institute. For this she achieved outstanding honours and won an award from the Australasian Promotion Marketing Association for her efforts.

Laura has worked at one of the countries largest PR companies and in small boutique agencies in Australia and overseas. She has built experience and understanding in a range of industries including B2B, consumer, beauty, fashion, film and franchise relations. With experience in both small and big teams, she is a capable and efficient manager. As member of the Public Relations Institute of Australia, Laura plays a key role in the New Practitioners Group organising events and networking opportunities for those ‘starting out’ in the industry. 

Her passion for public relations is fuelled by the knowledge that she is helping small, medium and large businesses grow their brand reputation.

Catherine Guyder Catherine Guyder

Catherine is a dynamic PR professional who loves working with a range of clients both in the professional services, entertainment and consumer sectors.  After completing a Bachelor of Arts in Communication majoring in Public Relations at the University of Technology Catherine worked in a small PR agency.  There she gained invaluable experience with numerous entertainment and lifestyle brands.During her studies she also completed an internship in the communications department of The Australian Red Cross, assisting with the promotion of their various services, events  and programs.

Catherine enjoys the challenge of looking at clients’ businesses from a different perspective and in-turn helping them achieve a positive impact through the media.  Having worked with such a variety of clients, Catherine has found PR to be an excellent tool for any organisation and she is keen to continue previous successes with new clients.

Dominique Tomarchio Dominique Tomarchio

Dominique is a unique and driven PR professional, delivering clients the best results possible. After completing a Bachelor of Arts in Communication majoring in Public Relations at the University of Technology Sydney, Dominique worked in a PR and brand management agency. From this she gained invaluable hands-on experience, working directly on client campaigns and with various charities around Australia.

Dominique thrives on delivering the PR difference to clients and ultimately achieving results that are above and beyond their expectations.
Catherine Blake Catherine Blake

After completing studies in Journalism and Public Relations at Macleay College, Catherine joined a boutique PR company in East Sydney gaining invaluable experience executing campaigns and organising events for a wide range of food, travel and property clients. Catherine managed the social media strategies and online content for the office, including the launch of their blog.

Showing a natural flair for PR, Catherine is passionate about her work and her clients, striving to exceed expectations and committed to achieving the best results possible.

Natasha Nikolovski Natasha Nikolovski

Having studied a Public Relations and Marketing Degree at the University of Wollongong, Natasha focuses on understanding clients' needs and translating them into successful PR campaigns. 

Natasha has been part of the WordStorm team since February 2010 and has thrived in the full spectrum of daily PR activities. With a fresh approach to PR, a can-do attitude and a focus on results, Natasha brings a creative flair to her campaigns.

Alison Wares Alison Wares

Alison is a public relations professional who understands the demands and complexities of the Australian media landscape and how to achieve the best possible results for her clients. Alison holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication majoring in Public Relations from the University of Technology Sydney.

She has worked in various public relations roles covering the publishing, music, arts and not for profit sectors. Her experience specialising in these fields has provided her with a unique perspective on public relations and the media. Alison’s drive to succeed and passion for working with the media, ensures consistently great results.

Jenny Ahern Jenny Ahern
Jenny completed her Bachelor of Media degree majoring in Public Relations in 2009. In her final year of University, Jenny worked with members from the Australia Day council of NSW to implement and pitch a campaign for Australia Day 2011. Jenny also interned at a PR agency consistently while at University. This experience, along with her positive attitude and great communication skills, has provided Jenny with the perfect platform to contribute to the success of WordStorm in a PR and admin support role.
