Twitter, blogging, Facebook and YouTube are all becoming words and tools we use every day in the marketing world. A few years ago the word twitter merely conjured the image of a bird making noise; however it is now a global phenomenon which has a whole new meaning and context. This is the reality of marketing in 2009 and it cannot be ignored. As such I’ve decided to introduce this newsletter with a vidcast.

Contribute to create a better world
Bandage Bear Day is celebrating its 20th anniversary on 27th March, continuing to raise vital funds to help The Children’s Hospital at Westmead care for over 60,000 sick children and their families each year. All funds raised go towards helping the largest paediatric centre in NSW continue to provide advanced care and treatment options for children from NSW, Australia and across the Pacific Rim. The WordStorm team think it’s an absolute necessity to keep all children (the young and the young-at-heart) happy!

I believe that online marketing is extremely efficient and effective. It definitely needs to be integrated into the marketing mix as everything seems to be moving online. These days, people are a lot more internet savvy, if they find your product online it reflects better upon the brand and its trustworthiness.

How did you get in to PR?
I did a lot of work experience in different areas whilst at school – marketing, advertising, brand management and PR and I decided PR was the job for me during year 11. So, I completed my BA Communications (Public Communication) Honours at uni and did more PR work experience before landing my first PR job with a small boutique company.

What do you love most about the job?
When I love something and feel passionately about it I’ll do pretty much anything to share this news and do my best to convince others why… Link
