Jucy Rentals
www.jucy.com.au
Launched in January 2002 in New Zealand, Jucy Rentals is one of Australasia’s fastest growing independent rental companies. Founded by
brothers Tim and Dan Alpe, Jucy has grown from 35 cars to a fleet of more than 2,000 vehicles. With their fun, fluorescent range of vehicles,
they’re a brand now synonymous amongst Australian and New Zealander travellers.
The Brief
- Introduce Jucy Rentals into the Australian market
- Raise the business profile of Jucy Rentals and co-founder Tim Alpe
- Promote the Jucy Rentals brand to domestic and international tourists
- Publicise Jucy Rentals’ winter ‘Ski 4 Free’ promotion
Our Success
WordStorm worked with Jucy Rentals to promote the ‘Ski 4 Free’ promotion, whereby all customers booking travel to New Zealand through Jucy Rentals also received a free adult lift day pass for each day the vehicle was hired. WordStorm generated a significant amount of media coverage relating to this promotion, encouraging customer enquiries during an otherwise ‘quiet’ period for the campervan rental industry. Recently, Jucy released its 300th campervan in Australia. Since journalists are often bombarded with media releases, WordStorm decided to grasp the attention of journalists by sending Jucy branded cupcakes to key media.
Media Coverage
Jucy Rentals has been featured in a broad range of media outlets and blogs, including SKY Business News, The Sunday Telegraph - Escape, The
Sun-Herald, Marie Claire, Dynamic Business Magazine, The Sunday Times and ninemsn.com.au.
